Winter's Slumber

Winter's slumber weighs heavy on my spirit,
Like rain, frozen on fragile branches,
nearly touching cold earth.

May warmth from the Son
cause spiritual icicles to melt,
like drops of grace,
like new mercies

every morning...

So thirsty, mouth and lips are dry,
Cracked, like miles of desert lands.
Only You can cause clouds to form
Bring drenching desert storm
To deeply satisfy thirsty sands.

Equilibrium’s been pulled by a strange gravity
That seems to be surely from this earth...
Would you equalize me?
Only in You sweet balance returns.
Spiritual symmetry.

This heart, you made has songs deep within
she longs to share in harmonious blending
of lives giving & receiving in love’s pleasure unending
Bringing glory to Father, Son and Spirit--
Until He comes to gather his bride
And take her to the place
He’s prepared for them
To love, forever.

"For behold, the winter is past,

The rain is over and gone.
12 ‘The flowers have already appeared in the land;
The time has arrived for pruning the vines,
And the voice of the turtledove has been heard in our land.
13 ‘The fig tree has ripened its figs,
And the vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance.
Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,
And come along"

Song of Solomon 2:11-13

Longing for Spring...again.
Every cold Winter, I ache for Spring....
I'm made to long for Spring.
