Darkness into Light

I will turn

the darkness

into light

before them.

I will make the

rough

places

smooth.

Isaiah 42:16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

Recalculating

Am I Lost?

No, life is just recalculating...

Hopeful me smiles,

Could it be all

downhill

from here?

More than likely,

there will be

more uphil

climbs.

But, I'm learning...

I'm not the one

who's navigating

any more...

A divine guide is

personally

warmly

carefully

safely

intimately

directing

my

every

step.

My times are

in

HIS

hands.

Divine Balance

Our lives are NOT to be
centered around the jobs we have...
...the careers we often allow to have first priority
in our days.
Yet, I am a single woman
who is the only one
to bring home the bacon
or in my case the chicken
and spinach salad sprinkled
with feta cheese...

Our lives are to be centered around our CALLINGS
the gifts,
the passions,
God draws us to
like gravity...
like a moth
to a flame...
like a man
drawn to
a woman,
Adam drawn
to Eve...
God within
us stirred,
aching,
longing
for more
than this world
this earth
can offer.

We are made for a world
beyond this world...
A heavenly place
supernatural...
yet more real
than we can imagine.

Today, somehow, my world
regained balance.
Surely it is grace, Godlike,
righting my world.
For a short while it
seemed I'd fallen into a world within
a snow globe, vigorously
shaken by a young one,
innocently turned upside down...

Slowly
Jesus brought divine
balance...
He does not desire
us to walk
tightrope,
tense,
but desires
us to rest,
trusting
relaxing
our hold
on this world
and tightening
our hold
on His hands.

Fiery Trials

I desperately
need
to be
sleeping
yet I'm tossing
turning,
wrestling
with this
struggle,
yet tryin' to
lay
it
down
at the
feet
of
Jesus
where
He can impact
needed
changes
in attitude
and in heart.
This challenge,
this fiery
trial
is way
beyond me,

a broken
earthen
vessel
of
clay.
Yet,
somehow
amazingly,
there is a treasure
in this jar
of clay
that shows
this all surpassing
power
is from God,
and
not
from
me.

God in the fog

I'm being challenged on so many levels these days. I'm being stretched. It's not pleasant.
I feel as though I'm in a fog.

In reality, there have been several foggy days recently... ironic isn't it? This morning I drove to work in the fog. It slowed all of us.
Slowed us down. This could be good, this slowing down, though we may see it as an inconvenience.

I believe My Father God is in this fog. He's in the challenges. He's in this stretching. Stretching beyond my comfort zone. He. Is. With. Me.  I just want to be with Him.
To allow Him to work in and through me, through the challenges...
through the fog.

It is not the clear-sighted who rule the world. Great achievements are accomplished in a blessed, warm fog.
Joseph Conrad

Truth is the torch that gleams through the fog without dispelling it.

The Light is Sweet

Yes, the light is sweet.

Light warmed my day,

sunshine causing dark shadows

to run and hide.

This January day, gloriously

unfurled her bright warm rays.

I, with upturned spirit

soaking up her light

smiling, delighting

in pleasant beaming

all the while

eyes fully awakening

to the meaning

and primal aching need

for true light.

In His light

we see light.

Psalm 74:16 The day is Yours, the night also is Yours; You have established the [starry] light and the sun.

Psalm 104:2 [You are the One] Who covers Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain or a tent,

Isaiah 60:20 Your sun shall no more go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself, for the Lord shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.

John 1:4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.

John 1

1IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
2He was present originally with God.
3All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
4In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
5And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

John 8:12 Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.
